Replacing Stones

It’s very common for us to see rings, necklaces, pendants, and bolo ties that need to be repaired, or have a stone replaced.
In the case of this ring, it was a little different than your average repair. This ring is not a native American ring, or even a southwestern style ring. It’s actually an antique ring, but it needed some TLC and a new stone regardless! Fortunately our silversmiths are also skilled in working with gold as well, and because of the style of the bezel on this ring, they were able to fix it up and add the new stone. The customer had requested a specific stone for this ring…a moss agate to be exact. Moss agate is formed from volcanic rocks, and although it is not extremely rare it is quite pretty! Our store doesn’t usually carry loose moss agate, so we had to source a stone for this repair. After a brief search, we found exactly what we were looking for, and our customer loved it too! The moral of the story? Just because a piece of jewelry isn’t native American, and just because it may not have a stone that is common is no matter for us! We can repair a lot of different styles of jewelry, from many different eras. The skill of our craftsman is such that we’ve done a huge variety of repairs over the years… so why not give us a call and find out how we can fix up your favorite piece? We’d be happy to make your jewelry wearable again! And that’s what it’s for, isn’t it?
