It’s quite common for a customer to bring jewelry into the shop for repairs. Of course, this doesn’t just happen here–it happens at shops everywhere. Usually the answer that the shop gives to the customer is, “Of course we can have that repaired for you. We have a really good guy that we send our repairs to!” Here at Old Town, we have a slightly different answer: “Of course! Come meet our craftsmen!”
By using in-house craftsmen like Henry Yazzie, and Sam Gray, we can eliminate problems that tend to rise with 3rd-party repair services. We communicate with our craftsmen all day, every day, and about every repair. We are able to work with them directly to ensure a repair service that is not only more accurate and better communicated, but also quite a bit faster than 3rd-party services. Sometimes a repair can be done wrong, or get mixed up with another repair. If this happens off-site, the shop must deal with the repair shop (usually via email or phone) to find and correct the problem. Here we simply stay with the piece through the entire process to ensure that everything goes right. We’re also able to send pictures ahead to make sure the customer is perfectly happy with the end result.
